Rachel Turner is from Chicago, IL, where she trained at Hyde Park School of Dance and danced as part of the Ballet Chicago Studio Company, learning and performing works of George Balanchine. She received additional training with Washington School of Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and Alonzo King Lines Ballet. She graduated from Columbia University in 2013 with a B.A. in Dance. Turner danced in Washington D.C. with DancEthos, Dakshina/Daniel Phoenix Singh Company, ArasDance, Maverick Lemons Dance Project, Metropolitan Ballet Ensemble, and the ICONS Choreographic Institute. In 2015, she founded Errant Movement, a modern dance company based in DC, and has shown her choreography in D.C., Chicago, Philadelphia, and Detroit. She recently relocated to Los Angeles, where she teaches dance at Campbell Hall Episcopal School and brought NACHMO (National Choreography Month) to Los Angeles as the regional director.
