Breegan Kearney | Guest Dancer

Breegan Kearney comes from Kalamazoo, MI, and began training in the Royal Academy of Dance system with tutelage from Arlene Larson. She went on to receive a scholarship to Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, MI for high school, where she majored in dance. Later, she attended the State University of New York at Purchase College, where she had the privilege of training under Megan Williams, Kazuko Hirabayashi, Kevin Wynn, Stephanie Tooman, Neil Greenberg, Sue Bernhard, Richard Cook, and Bettijane Sills, among others. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2010 with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance, and moved to New York City. While living there, Breegan was lucky to dance with several choreographers, including Pam Tanowitz, Nelly van Bommel, Nicole Wolcott, Annie Rigney, Kat Rhodes, and Caitlin Dutton. Breegan also co-produced interdisciplinary arts events around New York City with the Hoover Dam Collective. Breegan relocated to Denver in 2015 and began teaching dance at a public charter elementary school called Rocky Mountain Prep, where she taught for 5 years. She earned her M.A. in Dance Education as well as her Colorado K-12 Dance teaching license from University of Northern Colorado in 2020. In 2021, Breegan joined the Hannah Kahn Dance Company in Denver. She had the pleasure of volunteering on the Colorado dance standards revision committee in 2021 and teaches around the Denver area.
